Boom Lifts

Choose the carrier and setup path before comparing reach.

Separate towable and self-propelled articulating structures, then define the work point, obstacles, support or travel area and transport route.

01 / Category boundary

Define the task before the configuration.

Boom lifts are aerial-work equipment that position a platform through an articulated or extending boom structure.

The parent family organizes two current website paths. Towable articulating equipment depends on towing, setup and outrigger space. Self-propelled articulating equipment depends on its drive chassis, travel route and working envelope. Neither path can be selected from a height label alone.

Towable articulating
Review the trailer-style carrier, towing route and deployed support area.
Self-propelled articulating
Review the powered chassis, steering route and work-position envelope.
Obstacle and work point
Locate the platform task relative to walls, roofs, machinery and other obstacles.

02 / Equipment guide

Understand the structure and compare the task.

Connect the equipment arrangement to your work area, movement route and operating conditions.

Structure and movement

Boom lifts use an arm arrangement to position a platform relative to the base. An articulating structure introduces joints along that arm path. Vertical position, horizontal offset and obstacles are distinct parts of the access problem and should be shown together on the site sketch.

Describe the base position, the target work point and the obstacles between them. Then describe how the equipment reaches the setup area. The platform path and the travel route answer different questions, so neither should be represented by a single height requirement.

What to compare

Compare self-propelled articulating and towable articulating series by how the equipment will reach and move around the site. Then review the arm path and platform task within the chosen series. Compare model dimensions, power and controls together with that series' configuration.

Conditions to establish

Provide the required work-point position, horizontal offset, access route, setup area and ground conditions. Add overhead and side obstructions. A category label or visible arm arrangement does not establish a working envelope, slope limit or site suitability.

03 / Applications

Place the equipment in its working context.

Start with the task, access route and surrounding conditions, then review the configuration against the complete site brief.

01

Work points beyond an obstacle

Describe the vertical and horizontal relationship between the equipment position, obstacle and work point.

02

Towable project paths

Review tasks where towing, deployed support space and a separate transport plan are required.

03

Self-propelled project paths

Review tasks where the powered chassis, travel route and ground condition form part of the access plan.

05 / Selection inputs

Map the obstacle, carrier and setup area as one task.

Use the series pages to organize the carrier type, then send measured vertical and horizontal site information for review.

  1. 01

    Work point

Mark the required task position, approach side and any overhead or side obstacles.

  2. 02

    Horizontal access

Measure the offset between the equipment setup area and the work point.

  3. 03

    Towable setup

For the towable path, provide towing, positioning and deployed support constraints.

  4. 04

    Self-propelled travel

For the self-propelled path, provide aisle, turn, slope and floor information.

  5. 05

    Platform task

Describe the people, tools and materials expected at the platform.

  6. 06

    Transport and environment

Share site access, storage, destination and indoor or outdoor conditions.

06 / Project path

Turn site information into a reviewable brief.

Keep the project sequence visible so measurements, configuration questions and supporting files reach the enquiry together.

  1. 01

    Map the access geometry

Record the work-point position, horizontal offset and intervening obstacle.

  2. 02

    Choose the carrier path

Compare towing and deployed-support requirements with powered-chassis travel requirements.

  3. 03

    Review the complete site task

Add the platform activity, setup area, ground, access route, transport and environment.

07 / Buyer questions

Planning FAQ

Common questions about equipment selection and preparing your enquiry.

01 How do I choose between the two boom lift paths?

Start with the carrier and movement task: towing and deployed supports for one path, or an integrated drive chassis and travel route for the other.

02 Is the requested height enough?

No. The horizontal offset, obstacles, platform task, setup or travel area, ground and transport route also need review.

03 What drawing is useful?

A simple side view showing the setup area, obstacle, work point, heights and horizontal distances is useful.

04 Do the photographs confirm a model or working envelope?

No. They identify the structural paths for review; model and performance information requires confirmed technical records.
